My Moroccan hash review.

Moroccan hash review and unboxing.

As a long time fan of hashish, it was difficult waiting for my rare import to arrive by Canada Post. I told my circle of old school hash loving friends about what I had coming and we were all eager to finally give it a try to see what all the hype was really about.

So, eight of us gathered around the poker table and smoked all of the 3 grams of Moroccan hash over the course of about 6 hours while gambling like degenerates! In addition, I brought two other varieties of hash to compare with the Moroccan hash: Afghan and a domestically-produced hash known as Zig Zag. In total, we smoked over 9 grams of hash that night to help make this Moroccan hash review memorable for you and us. We packed up the hash pipes and bongs and rolled countless hash salad joints mixed with the best BC bud, and passed it all around the table.

I want to tell you more about how much fun we had that night, but I digress. I will say that the laughter was endless, same as the food.

Appearance, taste, aroma, and texture.

Appearance, taste, aroma, and texture of Moroccan hash, my review.

Appearance, taste, aroma, and texture are all key factors to consider when evaluating any kind of hash. The best soft Moroccan hash should typically have a rich, brown to light brown color, and a malleable soft texture that’s easy to work with and fluff. This pollen Moroccan hash delivered on all fronts. The macro picture above shows the sticky trichomes pressed together, but to the human eye, it looks smooth and soft.

When smoked I took note of its complex and flavorful smooth taste, with aromatic notes of fresh herbs and dark coffee. Each exhale off the hash pipe was smooth, rich, and thick. Someone at the poker table even commented “There’s nothing like smoking Moroccan hash with a coffee”, and I agree wholeheartedly.

The aroma had a sweet, herby, and musky fragrance that is instantly recognizable and brought me back to my old days of smoking Moroccan hash in Montreal and Ottawa.

Is Moroccan hash strong?

Yes, Moroccan hash is a strong type of hashish. The potency of Moroccan hash can vary but it’s typical to have between 40% to 60% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound that produces the “high” associated with cannabis use.

Many hash enthusiasts like me seek out authentic imported Moroccan hash for its potent indica type effects, which I can now describe as being deeply relaxing and euphoric. It also comes with a deep body buzz that helped me with my aches and pains and getting a good night sleep.

Pro and cons of Moroccan hash.

Pros:

  • 100% authentic and imported product.
  • Soft and malleable texture.
  • Old school taste and flavor.
  • Smokes smoothly and slowly.

Cons:

  • Expensive product, especially in bulk.
  • Rare import, so availability in Canada can be limited.
  • Hard to tell the difference between domestic varieties and imported Moroccan hash.

Brief overview of Moroccan hash and its popularity.

Moroccan Kif

Moroccan hash is a type of hashish that is made from the resin of cannabis plants grown in Morocco.

The process of making high quality Moroccan hash involves separating the trichomes (the sticky glands on the cannabis plant) from the plant material and compressing them using heat into a solid block or in slabs, depending on if brick hash or pollen hash is being made. If the said trichomes or Kif are separated from the plant stalks too many times, then the quality of the hash is degraded. The first round of kif that’s removed from the plant produces the best quality Moroccan hash. This results in a potent and flavorful form of cannabis that is popular among smokers and cannabis enthusiasts worldwide.

What are the different types and names of Moroccan hash?

Moroccan hash has a long history of use in both traditional and modern cannabis cultures. It has been a staple of the Moroccan and European cannabis industry for centuries.

Moroccan hash is known by several other names, including Moroccan Blond Hash, Ketama Gold Hash, Moroccan Slate, Moroccan Polm, and Moroccan Caramello. These names are often used to describe different textures, colors, or qualities of Moroccan hashish. Despite these variations, Moroccan hash is generally recognized for its high quality and distinct aroma and flavor and is widely regarded as some of the best hashish in the world.

Is Moroccan Hash an Indica or Sativa?

To answer this question, we must first understand the difference between indica and sativa cannabis strains. In a nutshell, indica strains are known for their relaxing and sedative effects, while sativa strains are known for their energizing and uplifting effects. These differences are believed to stem from variations in the plant’s chemical composition and the way it affects the body.

In Morocco, cannabis plants are predominantly of the indica variety, although some sativa strains are also grown in the region. The most common strains of cannabis grown in Morocco are the Rif and Ketama strains, which are known for their high resin production and potent effects that helps make the best Moroccan hashish, such as Ketama Gold Hash.

Moroccan hash is made from the resin of these cannabis plants, which means that it is predominantly indica in nature. This can be seen in the effects of Moroccan hash, which are often described as deeply relaxing and euphoric. However, the specific effects of Moroccan hash can vary depending on the strain of cannabis used and the method of production, so it is always important to approach each batch with an open mind and a willingness to explore its unique qualities.
